There is a question occupying thousands of people across Europe that conventional medicine has barely begun to systematically address: What can be done about persistent spike proteins – and which natural substances might help? Prof. Dr. Stefan Hockertz, molecular immunotoxicologist and pharmacologist, has given clear answers on this in several interviews on QS24 Health Television. At the center of his recommendations: the Huaier mushroom (Trametes robiniophila Murr).
In this article, I explain what spikeopathy is, why Prof. Hockertz highlights the Huaier mushroom so prominently – and what the science says about it.

What Is Spikeopathy – and Why Does It Matter?
The term spikeopathy describes symptoms attributed to persistent spike proteins in the body. Spike proteins arise either through infection or through certain vaccines that instruct the body to produce these proteins.
Under normal circumstances, these proteins are recognized and broken down by the immune system. But in a subset of affected individuals – estimates vary – these proteins appear to persist long-term in tissues. This can lead to chronic inflammation, fatigue, neurological symptoms, and immune dysfunction.
Prof. Dr. Hockertz explained in his QS24 contributions that the problem operates on two levels:
- Ribosomal mRNA persistence: The mRNA sequence can, according to newer findings, remain in the body longer than originally assumed and continue stimulating ribosomes to produce spike proteins.
- Immunological exhaustion: The immune system can enter a state of dysfunction in which it no longer efficiently clears the spike proteins.
The result: people report persistent fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment (brain fog), and a generally weakened immune system – a picture I know well from my coaching practice.
Why Prof. Dr. Hockertz Recommends the Huaier Mushroom
Prof. Dr. Stefan Hockertz is no fringe voice – he is the founding director of the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Hamburg and one of the most prominent immunotoxicologists in the German-speaking world. His statements about Huaier on QS24 are scientifically grounded.
His central argument: the Huaier mushroom acts on several points that are particularly relevant in spikeopathy.
1. Ribosomal Inhibition: Less Spike Production
Japanese studies cited by Prof. Hockertz show that certain polysaccharides from Trametes robiniophila can modulate the protein synthesis capacity of ribosomes. Specifically: they may reduce the efficiency with which ribosomes produce unwanted proteins. If confirmed, this would be a direct intervention point against persistent spike protein production processes.
These findings are not yet fully validated in large clinical trials, but the molecular foundations are solid and are currently being intensively researched.
2. Reactivating the Immune System: NK Cells and CD8+ T Cells
The immune system of people with persistent symptoms following spike protein exposure often shows a characteristic dysfunction: NK cells and cytotoxic CD8+ T cells are reduced in activity. Yet these are precisely the cells responsible for clearing persistent spike proteins and virus-infected cells.
The evidence base for Huaier in immune activation is clear: Huaier increases the number and activity of NK cells and significantly improves the CD4+/CD8+ ratio. A meta-analysis of 29 randomized clinical trials (2024) confirmed this immunomodulation in over 2,000 patients.
3. Dampening Chronic Inflammation
Persistent spike proteins trigger chronic inflammatory reactions – through activation of the complement system, TLR signaling pathways, and NF-κB activation. Huaier demonstrably inhibits NF-κB. This pathway inhibition is documented not only in oncological studies (where NF-κB plays a central role in chemoresistance) but is also relevant for general inflammation regulation.
4. Gut Flora as the Immune Foundation
A growing body of research shows that the gut microbiome is decisive for the immune response to spike proteins. People with dysbiosis – a disrupted gut microbiome – struggle longer and less efficiently against spike-associated symptoms. Huaier demonstrably modulates the gut microbiome in a positive direction. A 2025 study showed this explicitly in the context of viral infections.
What Patient Data Shows
Prof. Dr. Hockertz reported in his QS24 colloquium on observed patient outcomes: with several weeks of supplementary Huaier extract intake, some cases showed significant reductions in measurable spike proteins in the blood – in individual cases up to 70–75% reduction compared to baseline values. These data are not yet controlled trials, but they are clinically remarkable and motivate further research.
What convinces me as a longevity coach: Huaier is not an experimental substance. It has over a thousand years of documented use, an excellent evidence base in oncology, and an outstandingly favorable safety profile. That makes it a justifiable measure while research on spikeopathy continues to advance.
Huaier and Long COVID
A digression relevant to many: the symptoms of Long COVID and spikeopathy overlap considerably – chronic fatigue, brain fog, reduced exercise tolerance, sleep disturbances. The immunological mechanisms are similar: weakened NK cells, chronic inflammation, gut microbiome dysbiosis.
There are not yet large Huaier-specific Long COVID studies, but the biological rationale is identical. Huaier addresses exactly the mechanisms identified as pathophysiologically relevant in Long COVID.
For my clients with post-COVID symptoms, Huaier is therefore a building block I regularly bring into the conversation.
The QS24 Videos with Prof. Dr. Hockertz – Where to Find Them
Prof. Dr. Hockertz has spoken on this topic in several formats:
- „Spikeopathy, Huaier Mushroom, and New Therapeutic Approaches“ – Interview on QS24
- „Spikeopathy, Huaier Mushroom, and Possible Therapeutic Pathways“ – QS24 Colloquium with additional experts
- „Inhibiting Tumor Growth Without Chemotherapy“ – Interview on oncological applications
- „Black Box in the Blood: How We Can Regulate Spike Proteins“ – on QS24 and Rumble
These videos are publicly accessible and I recommend them as a supplement to this article. Hockertz explains the scientific background in an understandable way, without exaggeration.
Practical Intake Recommendations
What do I conclude from all of this for practice? Anyone noticing symptoms of spikeopathy or Long COVID in themselves should consider Huaier as a supplementary building block – together with:
- A consistent anti-inflammatory diet
- Adequate sleep and stress reduction
- Targeted micronutrient supplementation as needed (D3, K2, zinc, magnesium)
- Regular, moderately dosed exercise (no overtraining)
In this concept, Huaier takes on the role of immune modulator and inflammation regulator – a building block that is relevant both short- and long-term.

My Conclusion
The topic of spikeopathy is not yet fully addressed in mainstream medicine, but the scientific indications are serious – as are the clinical reports of affected individuals. Prof. Dr. Hockertz is among the few scientists who address this topic publicly and fact-based.
The Huaier mushroom in this context is not a miracle solution – but it is a biologically plausible, well-tolerated, and scientifically substantiated supplement. Its ability to reactivate the immune system, regulate inflammation, and improve the gut microbiome makes it a meaningful building block – regardless of whether the focus is spike-related or simply a weakened immune system and persistent fatigue.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Huaier completely eliminate spike proteins from the body? That is not currently documented and would be an overstatement. What research shows: Huaier strengthens the immune cells responsible for clearance and can dampen inflammatory processes. Whether and to what extent this leads to a reduction in spike proteins is being actively researched.
Is Huaier safe in combination with other substances? The evidence base for combination with other substances is good – in oncology, Huaier is explicitly used as an adjuvant. Those taking medications should discuss intake with their physician.
How long should one take Huaier? For structural immune changes, at least 8–12 weeks are advisable. For Long COVID or spikeopathy symptoms, I recommend a trial period of 3 months.
Is Huaier a substitute for medical treatment? No. Huaier is a supplement – not a substitute. Especially with persistent symptoms, medical evaluation is essential.
